Recall Notice
The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act was signed into law on August 14, 2008 and it became unlawful to resell recalled items. All consignors should check the CPSC website (www.cpsc.gov) for information on recalled items before reselling an item. The reselling of recalled items also could carry civil and/or criminal penalties. FUMC NS/K Kids Closet cannot be held accountable if a recalled item is sold or bought, as it is the individual consignor's duty to directly check their own items they choose to sell, not the duty of Kids Closet. Each individual consignor/reseller is liable for their own items. If an item is consigned with Kids Closet, Kids Closet will rely on the fact that the individual consignor/reseller has checked their own products against the CPSC list of recalled items and all items are safe to resell. While the CPSC expects every reseller to comply fuller with the new laws, resellers should pay special attention to recalled children's products, particularly cribs and play yards; children's products that may contain lead, such as children's jewelry and painted wooden or metal toys; flimsily made toys that are easily breakable into small parts; toys that lack the required age warnings; and dolls and stuffed toys that have buttons, eyes, noses or other small parts that are not securely fastened and could present a choking hazard for young children.flimsily made toys that are easily breakable into small parts; toys that lack the required age warnings; and dolls and stuffed toys that have buttons, eyes, noses or other small parts that are not securely fastened and could present a choking hazard for young children.flimsily made toys that are easily breakable into small parts; toys that lack the required age warnings; and dolls and stuffed toys that have buttons, eyes, noses or other small parts that are not securely fastened and could present a choking hazard for young children.

ABOUT KIDS CLOSET

Kids Closet Consignment Sale was started as a community outreach of First United Methodist Church (FUMC) Nursery School and Kindergarten to provide an environment where buyers and sellers can meet to exchange high quality, used baby and children's clothing, toys, equipment, and other items at affordable prices.

Sellers price their own items: 65% goes to the seller; 35% goes to FUMC Nursery School and Kindergarten. There is *NO* consignor fee! Unsold items can be donated by sellers. These items will go to Kids Closet Cares where needy families identified in the community are able to "shop" the donated items and take what they need at no cost. All remaining items after Kids Closet Cares are donated to Sanctuary House, Salvation Army, Goodwill, Alpha Alternative and/or FUMC Mountain Mission.

UPDATED PICK UP PROCESS

It will be your responsibility to pick up your own items between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday March 7th. The public sale ends at 1:00 p.m., but you can pick up your items at any time between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Your items must be picked up by 2:00 p.m. All items left at the sale at 2:01 p.m. will be donated.

You will need to go through the room and find your own items. You will then proceed to the check out line. A staff member will ensure the items correspond with your seller number. You will then be free to leave with the items that did not sell.

Note: When tagging items you might want to use a particular hanger, string, yarn or tape to help you identify your items at time of pick up. There will also be a report on My Consignment Manager that shows unsold items to make the process of finding items easier.

Checks: When you drop off your items for consignment, you will address an envelope provided by Kids Closet. A check for the money you earn through the sale will be promptly mailed to the address on the envelope.

PLEASE NOTE:
It is very important that you make sure that all clothes are free of stains, smoke or musty odors. We reserve the right to reject any items that do not comply with our standards. Rejected items will be set aside for donation regardless of how your tag is marked.
